Position: Install Technician: Apprentice
Department: Install
Compensation: Up to $17.00 per Hour
Schedule: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Overtime (nights and weekends) required during high demand.
Primary Role: To assist and learn how to install residential heating and air conditioning systems in accordance with the company’s approved operating practices and with the highest
level of customer care.
Supervisor: Install Manager
Required Qualifications:
- Desire to pursue a career in the HVAC industry.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude.
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Work from 32’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder.
- Demonstrate willingness to self-study and learn basic HVAC terminology.
- Demonstrate willingness to invest time in installation training seminars and classes. • Willingness to invest in tools of the HVAC trade and learn how to safely use them.

Job Responsibilities:
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Purchase all required tools as listed for an Apprentice Installer.
- Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude while maintaining company uniform from head to toe.
- Assist with residential heating and cooling installations as directed by lead installer. • Follow directions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and complete in a timely manner. • Report to jobsite locations on time as scheduled.
- Communicate to the dispatcher when arriving and leaving jobsite.
- Perform all jobsite duties including cleaning of jobsite, restocking of truck materials and disposal of used equipment/materials
Develop skills to properly interact with clients per company’s’ standard operating practices. Develop skills to educate customers on additional products or services available through the company Develop basic metal skills for simple transitions in regards to furnace and/or AC installations

Primary Role: Advanced to expert capabilities designing and installing commercial and residential HVAC systems in accordance with the company’s approved operating practices and with the highest level of customer care.
Assist with the training and development of lower level Install Technicians.
Assist service department as needed with maintenance and demand service calls.

Required Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Job Responsibilities:
- Actively & professionally assist with the training and development of lower level technicians.
- Set the standard/example of always maintaining a professional appearance and attitude; Ensure lower level technicians are doing the same.
- Expertly perform full capacity residential installations with confidence, professionalism and accuracy. • Expertly perform light commercial replacement installations with confidence, professionalism and accuracy. • Follow directions from supervisor and/or dispatcher and complete in timely manner.
- Report to jobsite locations on time as scheduled.
- Communicate to dispatcher when arriving and leaving jobsite.
- Report parts and materials needed to dispatcher to coordinate and expedite parts delivery.
- Perform all duties and interact with clients per company’s’ standard operating practices.
- Complete all required paperwork, forms and invoices.
- Always adhere to the COD policy.
- Debrief with dispatcher upon completion of each job.
- Directly maneuver from one jobsite to another as dispatched through the day.
- Acquire new residential maintenance agreements.
- Following company guidelines, inform and educate customers on additional products, services available as well as replacement options.
- Successfully and knowledgably use tools and testing devices.

Achievements Required for advancement to Level 4 Lead Installer:
- Consistently meets or exceeds all Success Factors/Job Competencies of all lower install levels
- Understanding and actively following of all company policy and procedures
- Recommended for advancement from field training supervisor, manager and owner(s)
- Possess all lower level Lead tools
- Successfully install a minimum of 200 furnace/ac installations over the span of 1.5 years from level 4 advancement date in order to advance to a level 5 lead installer
- Successfully complete a minimum of 500 commercial installations over the span of 2 years from level 4 advancement date in order to advance to level 5 lead installer
- Successfully sell 50 maintenance plans a year
- Call back percentage of less than 1% maintained
- Successfully can perform a full system start up and testing in our training facility with no guidance, instruction, assistance or corrections
- Successfully perform basic metal tran
- sitions and measurements with no guidance or corrections given from Installation Trainer or Level 5 Lead Installer
- Successfully perform advanced metal transitions, offsets and measurements with no guidance or corrections given from Installation Trainer or Level 5 Lead Installer
- Demonstrate proficiency on installing the following residential and commercial equipment

- Heat pumps
- Hyper heats
- Mini splits ( Single head and multi head systems)
- All types of RTU replacements
- MUA
- Mid eff - Mid eff residential boiler replacements

- Mid eff -High eff residential boiler replacements
- Can successfully read a simple blueprint and implement design with minimal supervision
- Can successfully read complex blueprints and implement design
